چکیده
Improving market competitiveness and economic efficiency was the objective behind demonopolisation liberalisation of railway sector in European Union. Achieving this remains important crucial to development a single rail transport market. The performance financial results under new, separative organisational structure railways EU is result action many different actors, private operators public entities. This significantly complicates uniform clear comparable evaluation indicators for makes comparative analyses difficult. Moreover, specific situation as tool implementing environmental social policy may conflict with requirements efficiency. article presents determinants methods measuring proposed by researchers practitioners.

Efficiency measurement is critical for industries where firms do not face strong competition, as we cannot rely on the market to discipline the firms' efficiency. Railway is a typical example. At the same time the fact that railway produces multiple outputs using the common set of inputs calls for a delicate and sophisticated treatment in measuring the efficiencies. In this article, the DEA ...

متن کاملThermodynamic Aspects of Precipitation Efficiency
Precipitation efficiency is one of important meteorological parameters and has been widely used in operational precipitation forecasts (e.g., Doswell et al., 1996). Precipitation efficiency has been defined as the ratio of precipitation rate to the sum of all precipitation sources from water vapor budget (e.g., Auer and Marwitz, 1968; Heymsfield and Schotz, 1985; Chong and Hauser, 1989; Dowell ...
